Asian Adventures with Zuleika from the Cruise Factor Team

This week one of the team is off on an adventure of a life time. Zuleika is heading off to complete the Great Wall of China Marathon and while she is away she is having a few extra days to experience the sights and sounds of Asia.

Once Zuleika completes her marathon she will be experiencing the overnight train from Beijing to Xi’an to visit the Terracotta warriors.¬† Then she will be heading off to Hong Kong for a night and then getting onto Ovation of the Seas to experience two back to back Culturally Enriching cruises.

What is a Culturally Enriching cruise?

Culturally enriching cruises bring the destination experience to life onboard. Dining venues showcase local flavours, and entertainment and activities reflect local tastes. These special sailings are very popular with guests from the region, so you will be immersed in the local culture, language, customs and practices while still enjoying the Royal Caribbean signature service and amenities.

What’s different onboard?

  • Local customs, practices and languages will predominate on the ship, but English will always be spoken by staff and crew
  • Announcements are made in languages other than English
  • In addition to core Royal Caribbean products and menus, there will be additional food items representative of the respective region
  • Production shows will be core Royal Caribbean show which place heavy emphasis on music and dancing as opposed to language. Comedians and guest entertainers will perform in the dominant language
  • Feature activities will showcase local tastes¬† and other details exclusive to the region

You will get to explore the Ovation of the Seas with her via Facebook Live, videos and photos. Also if you are normally a solo traveler then you definitely want to watch out for the videos as Zuleika is booked into a Mid-ship Studio Balcony cabin, which is a fantastic option if you are traveling alone or like your own cabin.

Once she has completed her two back to back cruises she will be heading to Macau on the local ferry for a night to check out the sights and sounds there and find some Pandas
