Celebrity Cruises Modernisation

Celebrity have revealed plans for a $400m upgrade of its entire fleet through to 2023. Staterooms will be redone to maximise cabin storage and new cashmere mattresses will be added. Suite guests will have the added benefit of a new sundeck. There will also be a new Oceanview Cafe added to the Constellation, Infinity, Millennium and the Summit.

Return of Radiance

Radiance of the Seas has arrived in Sydney for the beginning of Royal Caribbean Cruises‘ 10th Season in this region.

Radiance is the first RCCL ship to return for this cruise season and will be joined by another 5 vessels which offer itineraries around Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific and Asia.

“Be Kind/Dare to Care” with Dr Seuss on board Carnival

Carnival Cruise Line has joined with Dr Seuss Enterprises to bring new educational activities onboard, these are designed to promote kindness, compassion and generosity for its younger passengers. These new activities are rolling out this month across the Carnival fleet and will accompany the current Seuss at Sea program. Activities will include a ‘pledge to be kind’ activity where passengers will be encouraged to write down their kindness pledge and there will be a special banner where they will all be posted. Children will be able to create friendship bracelets and other momentos.

 

U by Uniworld

Boutique Cruise Line Uniworld have broken into an uptapped market with the introduction of U by Uniworld and the beginning of river cruises for 21 – 45 year olds. River cruises are traditionally aimed at an older demographic but U by Uniworld are catering directly to the youth market with later excursion start times to allow for a sleep in, late-night and overnight stays in port and itineraries that are planned around your schedule. There are currently two ships – The B cruises down the Seine River in France and The A cruises the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers, meandering through The Netherlands and Central Europe.
