In six months Queen Elizabeth will arrive in Australian waters for her first homeport season. QE will spend 54 days sailing the fantastic Australian and New Zealand coastlines. If you have always wanted to check out a Cunard ship now would be the time to start thinking about it. Whether it’s a short two-night cruise or something longer there are plenty of choices. If early 2019 is a little too soon why not look at November 2019 when QE will be back for an even BIGGER season with 101 nights being spent down in Australian waters

Royal Caribbean

Harmony of the Seas is making it’s feature film debut in the Netflix original Like Father. Like Father was filmed on board and features the actors experiencing the activities on the ship, including Flow Rider, The Perfect Storm, Boleros, Rising Tide bar and also the actors got to try out the longest overwater zipline on Royal Caribbean’s private island in Labadee, Haiti. To celebrate the release of the film at the weekend, Royal Caribbean hosted the ‘largest movie premiere at sea’ by screening the film on: Symphony, Harmony, Allure and Oasis in the AquaTheatre. Starring Kristen Bell, Kelsey Grammer and Seth Rogen, the film is about a young advertising executive and workaholic, played by Kristen Bell, who was left at the altar and unexpectedly ends up on her Caribbean honeymoon cruise with her estranged father.

Coral Expeditions

If you have been thinking about a cruise to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea or the Kimberley Coast, Coral Expeditions is a great cruise line to consider. With the Coral Adventurer currently under construction, and with her launch ceremony scheduled for 22 April 2019, you won’t have long to wait. Full details of her inaugural season have just been released and 2019 & 2020 feature a diverse range of expeditions in Australia’s tropical north, the rarely visited West Papua, Kimberley coast, Papua New Guinea and the exotic Spice Islands.

The company confirmed that building has now commenced on the ship’s lightweight dual Xplorer expedition tenders – open safari boats that “extend the capabilities of the ship beyond current cruise industry benchmarks by allowing rapid deployment of all passengers on shore excursions”. The Xplorer tenders, a trademark feature of all Coral Expeditions ships, can cruise up rivers, land on beaches and disembark at small village piers. Coral Adventurer also features a guest observation lounge and a special-purpose room for art workshops, photography and scientific research.
