Celebrity Edge

Celebrity Edge

Celebrity Edge is changing the future of entertainment at sea – or anywhere else, for that matter. The bar has been raised to even greater heights with on board entertainment aboard latest Celebrity ship. This is just as revolutionary, just as technologically mind-blowing, and just as carefully crafted as Celebrity Edge itself. The theatre will feature four stage areas, three large projection screens and a stage that extends into the audience area

With every aspect of the Edge re-imagined you won’t have to go far for a never before experienced cruise holiday.

Magic Carpet on the new Celebrity Edge

Celebrity have thought of everything from the re-focusing of the pool deck and outward facing cabanas, rather than facing into the pool, the adults-only Solarium where you can unwind in luxury, to the Magic Carpet experience with comfortable seating and a full bar and space for live music, it can move up and down the ship and becomes multi-functional. From a mouthwatering dinner experience such as ‘Dinner on the Edge’, down to deck 14, the Magic Carpet becomes a stunning extension of the main pool area, right down to deck 2, the Magic Carpet becomes a modern part of The Destination Gateway – modern luxury embarkation station.

If you have always wanted to be on an inaugural cruise this would be the ship to be on, Celebrity Edge sailing her inaugural season in the Caribbean starting in December. Cabins are still available.

Oceania has announced its OceaniaNEXT initiative which is a $100 million refurbishment of its four 684-passenger Regatta class ships. This upgrade is going to result in 342 brand new suites and staterooms, as well as new designs and decor. “OceaniaNEXT will be the most extensive and comprehensive suite of product and guest service enhancements that we have ever undertaken,” said Oceania Cruises chief executive officer Bob Binder. “We are maintaining the intimate surroundings and personal attention that our guests love, while at the same time setting a new standard of
style and elegance for small ship cruising…we can’t wait for our ‘new’ ships to launch,” he added. The renovations will include 1400 new marble bathrooms, 12,000 new sofas and chairs, 8,000 new light fixtures and 1368 refreshed suites and staterooms. The first ship to be refurbished will be Insignia in December 2018 and will finish with Nautica in June 2020

Sky Princess

Last month Princess cruises celebrated the keel laying for new ship Sky Princess. October 2019 is when the newest Princess ship will debut on her inaugural voyage. With 3660 passengers she won’t be the largest new ship out there, but she will be one of the most advanced. With the Sky Suite as an addition to the staterooms, each Sky Suite can have up to five guests, you will have a 270-degree panorama throughout your voyage and a spectacular 700-square-foot balcony. Large enough to host your own celebration or party should you wish. If you want to venture out of your cabin you will find more spa pools than ever before, two deep-tank pools and a Wakeview infinity style pool at the aft end of the ship. Your favourites, like the Vista Lounge are still there but they have been given an upgrade . If relaxing is what you like to do on a cruise Sky will have twice as many cabanas as its sister ships, Royal, Regal and Majestic in the Sanctuary. Head to the new Lotus spa and you’ll find The Enclave, the largest ever thermal suite on any Princess ship, you will have the opportunity to soak in a hydrotherapy pool beneath a rain shower and relax in detoxifying steam baths. The Princess Live venue is also getting some new additions of a new cafe with barista-made coffee, tea and quick bites.

Sky Princess will feature in the Mediterranean or the Caribbean in 2019
